IS CHARLIE SHEEN'S PLEA DEAL COMPLETELY DERAILED?
The original plea deal Charlie Sheen had agreed to might not happen. TMZ.com reports that the deal was called off because Beverly Campbell, the Jail Administrative Officer, was adamantly opposed to giving Charlie work release.
Campbell supposedly felt Charlie was only eligible for "Useful Public Service" -- UPS. Under UPS, Charlie would not be allowed to smoke or eat outside the jail, and his hours of freedom would be more limited than work release.TMZ claims that Sheriff Bob Braudis refused to order Campbell to approve work release for Charlie, even though multiple sources say Braudis had already approved a signed plea deal between the prosecutor and Sheen. Now, the website claims, Braudis has decided that Beverly will make the ultimate decision. Charlie's lawyer, Yale Galanter, told TMZ, "People should always honor their agreement, no matter what the circumstances."

PLASTIC SURGERY IS OUT IN HOLLYWOOD? Plastic surgery is out and natural looks are in -- at least where the film industry is concerned. It is viewed as ridiculous. Ten years ago, actresses had the feeling that they had to get plastic surgery to get the part. Now I think it works against them. To walk into a casting session looking false hurts one's chances." On Friday, "24" director Jon Cassar wrote on Twitter, quote, "News from the 24 set, the crew has been told that 24 has come to an end. There will be no season 9." "AT THE MOVIES" TO LEAVE THE AIRWAVES
After nearly a quarter century, "At The Movies" is leaving the airwaves. The nationally-syndicated movie review TV show is winding down its run this August. Ebert was on the masthead for the "Chicago Sun-Times" while Siskel wrote for the "Chicago Tribune."Siskel's death in 1999 in connection with surgery for a brain tumor left Ebert without a regular counterpoint. Richard Roeper -- also of the "Sun-Times" eventually joined the show in 2000. A thyroid cancer diagnosis for Ebert led to his departure from the airwaves in 2006. In recent years, Ben Lyons of E! Entertainment Television and Ben Mankiewicz of Turner Classic Movies filled the reviewers chairs. That pairing saw the show's ratings plummet across the county. Last season, Michael Phillips of the "Tribune" and A.O. Scott of the "New York Times" took over, but the show never rebounded.

Another insider added, "By (2012), the show will have been on the air for more than a decade, and the producers figure that's long enough . . . That's the reason why FOX is planning to conclude the show in three years, and why they've signed host Ryan Seacrest to a new contract for three years." Fox supposedly isn't too concerned about its top show going off the air because Cowell's upcoming series The X Factor will be able to fill the void.

They also said that she'd been suffering from laryngitis and flu-like symptoms in the days before her death. Assistant Chief Ed Winter told People magazine that the drugs found in Murphy's system were not illegal, explaining, "It was only prescription and over-the-counter meds." However, he added, "This death could've been preventable. Murphy was planning on seeing a doctor, but she unfortunately passed away before she did. This was a case of a person with pneumonia who was anemic (having a low blood count) who was taking medication when she should've been getting medical treatment."

FOX CHIEF SAYS THERE ARE 'NO REAL NEGOTIATIONS' YET WITH CONAN O'BRIEN
Conan O'Brien and Fox are in talks, but a concrete deal sounds very far away. According to his NBC severance, O'Brien can start a new talk show in September. Although there have been rumors about a deal with Fox, nothing has been finalized . . . yet. According to Hollywood Reporter, News Corp. Chairman and CEO Rupert Murdoch says, "Sure, there have been some conversations," but adds that "no real negotiations" have taken place. Apparently there are different options on the table, and if Fox can find a way to "make a profit," the network "would do it in a flash." One issue, Murdoch says, is the timing of a late night talk show. Fox's affiliate TV stations run profitable syndicated programming in the 11-11:30 p.m. slot. So starting O'Brien at 11 p.m. instead of 11:30 p.m. would lead to "difficult negotiations" for the network.

He said that production for the sequel will be fairly easy, explaining, "We're going to spend a lot of money building this world and all these digital characters and digital plants and trees and mountains and so on, and then once we've got it, we've got it. It's not like it's a practical set that when you build it, you have to tear it down and you're left with a big pile of lumber out behind the studio. We have all that stuff so we can go again."Cameron continued, "We just have to come up with a great story, which we haven't done yet. I have a rough story, but you need to make a script, so that might take some time. Don't start going to buy your tickets." He commented on the film's astounding box office success saying, "Oh yeah, we have a plan in place already for how to break these records. Are you kidding?! This is so random that this is happening. There's no way to have predicted this."
